This appetizer was familiar for many of the parties we attended as a family and when I was older and going to teen parties. I remember this same stuffing used in hallowed-out  tomatoes.

Vintage 1960s Classic Waldorf Salad

We didn't BBQ at tail-gate parties. We had cold salads and finger food. This way when the evening's events were over, everything was put in the trash container at the park!

Classic Waldorf Salad

2 apples cored and cut into large chunks

1 cup grapes cut in half (we prefer red grapes)

1/2 walnuts, chopped or whole

1 cup celery chopped

1/2 -1 cup of blue cheese dressing

Combine all ingredients in a salad bowl. Cover and chill for 1 hour before serving.
